The rise of digital content in local languages presents both opportunities and challenges. While there is a wealth of information available, users often struggle to consume it efficiently. This project will leverage generative AI to create a summarization tool that condenses lengthy texts into concise summaries, making information more accessible to speakers of local languages. Key activities will include: • Researching existing summarization techniques and local language nuances. • Collecting and preparing datasets in selected local languages. • Developing and fine-tuning a generative AI model to produce summaries. • Evaluating the effectiveness of the summarization through user feedback and metrics. • Documenting the process and findings for future reference.
